It will be a big night Monday (Feb. 8) at the Cheatham Street Warehouse, 119 Cheatham Street, when Kent Finlay’s annual 29th birthday is celebrated once again with a concert full of talent.
The evening will feature some of Finlay’s favorite songwriters, including Walt Wilkins, John Arthur Martinez, Kyle Park, Brady Black, Adam Carroll, The Trishas and Ray Wylie Hubbard.
The concert will also feature Cheatham Street regulars Dr. G and the Mudcats, Aaron Einhouse, Jordan Minor, Javi Garcia, Grant Ewing, Forest Wayne Allen, Hallyanna Finley and Foscoe Jones.
Also scheduled to perform are Adam Carroll, Star DeAzlan, Andy Burletson, Tony Taylor, Russell Bisbey, Cameron Joiner, Mike Ethan Messick, Wes Nickson, Pake Rossi, Sterling Finlay, Court Nance, Jaime Cortinas, Victor Holk, Hunter McKithan, Samantha Finlay, Allan Goodman, Jason Bednorz, Bill Whitbeck,George Ensle and many more surprise guests.
The concert begins at 6 p.m. and will go, Finlay says, “till the cows come home.” A minimum donation of $10 at the door will go towards the non-profit Cheatham Street Music Foundation.
Attendees should note that The Trishas will hit the stage at 7 p.m., followed by Ray Wylie Hubbard.
The cows should probably just call in sick on Tuesday.
Happy 29th birthday (again) to Kent Finlay.
I only hope that some day people realize how important he has been to the music scene here in San Marcos and to Texas Music in general.
