The City of San Marcos Arts Commission is currently taking applications from arts professionals who would like to be considered for positions as volunteer Peer Review Panelists. The panelists evaluate and score application for arts funding submitted to the Arts Commission.
Those selected will be required to read funding applications, be part of a public review session and score each applicant based on pre-established criteria. The applications and scores are then sent on to the Arts Commission for funding consideration.
Any arts organization or individual may nominate a candidate for a Peer Review Panelist. Individuals are also free to nominate themselves.
The panelists are selected based on professional qualifications, a broad knowledge of the arts and ability to work well in a group. Candidates should have knowledge on non-profit and business practices. A full list of qualifications is available, along with the application form, at www.sanmarcostx.gov/arts.
