Two San Marcos High School seniors have won nominations by U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett to for commissions to attend prestigious armed forces academies.
Henry Finch is nominated to attend the U.S. Navel Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Finch is No. 1 academically in his class and has a history of volunteerism that includes organizing a children’s clothing drive with the San Marcos Housing Authority as his Eagle Scout project. A pianist and varsity cross country runner, Finch will attend the Naval Academy in the fall. He is pictured here with his father, Stanley, the flight operations director for Berry Aviation at the San Marcos Airport; mother, Linda; and sisters Mary Frances and Mia.
Aidan Dietz is nominated to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. His father, Michael, is a lieutenant colonel in the Texas Army National guard and has served in Afghanistan and Iraq. His mother, Lucy “elly” Del Prado Dietz, is an attorney in San Marcos firm Duvall Gruning & Dietz PPLC. His sister, Sharon, also pictured here, is a University of Texas junior and Big 12 rowing champion. A varsity swimmer, Aidan Dietz is completing an Eagle Scout project with the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center.Email | Print
