Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) recently announced that it will offer three $1,000 scholarships, as well as two Dell laptop computers, to deserving regional high school seniors.
The scholarships may be used for the cost of attending a university, college, community college or vocational trade school. A tuition statement and proof of enrollment must be submitted in order to receive the scholarship.
The criteria for the scholarship awards will be based on community involvement, financial need, academic achievement and work or club experience.
CTMC President and CEO Gary Jepson said, “We recognized our community’s need, especially during these tough economic times.”
On-line application forms are available at www.ctmc.org. The form is posted under the “About Us” tab. Students interested in applying must send or deliver their completed applications to CTMC, 1301 Wonder World Drive. The forms must be delivered or postmarked on or before April 19, 2010.
In 1990, CTMC awarded its first high school school scholarship of $250 to a single recipient. In 2009, even though CTMC had committed granting three scholarships, it increased it’s giving to benefit two additional students, resulting in more than $4,000 in scholarships. The current amount has been increased with the additional of two recipients receiving Dell laptops.
