Human service agency applications for funding from the City of San Marcos for the 2010-11 fiscal year are now available and are due by Feb 5.
Agencies may pick up an application from the Finance Department in the Municipal Building, 630 E. Hopkins. Applications may also be downloaded from the City of San Marcos web site at http://www.sanmarcostx.gov/departments/finance/
Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on February 5, 2010 at the Finance Department. Late submissions will not be considered.
The Human Services Advisory Board will review applications and make its recommendations to the City Council in the spring. The City Council will decide allocations in its budget process that will be concluded in early September, 2010. Funding will be for the fiscal year from October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011.
The City Council has allocated approximately $439,213 from the General Fund to assist programs of local social service agencies in recent budgets.
Agencies funded in 2009-10 include Hays County Food Bank, San Marcos Housing Authority, Central Texas Medical Center Heritage Program, San Marcos Youth Service Bureau, Southside Community Center, Hays Caldwell Women’s Center, Texas State University Safe at Home Program, SMCISD Pep Program, Combined Community Action, Scheib Opportunity Center, Hays County Homespun, Greater San Marcos Youth Council, Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Texas, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, E Café, CASA of Central Texas, Community Action, Hays Caldwell Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse, Goodwill Industries of Central Texas, Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
To participate in the application process, an agency must meet the following criteria:
