San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz recently honored Corporal Frank Calabrese on his retirement from the San Marcos Police Department (SMPD).

In addition to being the first School Resource Officer at San Marcos High School, Calabrese is also a founder of the Christian Federation of Police Officers-Police Athletics League (CFPO-PAL), which serves thousands of local children.

The successful athletic league has more than sixty football teams from eleven cities, including New Braunfels, San Marcos, Geronimo, Sequin, Luling, Lockhart, Hays, Kyle, Buda, Creedmore, Stockdale and Marion.  The league’s mission is to prevent juvenile crime and violence by providing a safe environment for civic, athletic, recreational and educational opportunities.

Calabrese will continue his work with the league after his retirement.
