City sets up Christmas tree drop off

STAFF REPORT

The San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department will accept Christmas trees for recycling from now through Jan. 13 at the Grant Harris Building, which is located at 401 East Hopkins Street.

Residents dropping off trees are asked to remove all ornaments and lights and place the trees in the fenced enclosure next to the stage. Mulch from the trees is available free to the public. Residents must load the mulch on their own vehicles. The remaining mulch will be used on city parks.

Any San Marcos residents wishing to dispose of Christmas trees at the curb through Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) should call the city’s public services department during business hours at (512) 393-8026 to arrange for a bulky waste pick up.
