Texas State AMA recognized with grant

STAFF REPORT

The American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter at Texas State is one of five recently recognized for community service by the American Marketing Association Foundation (AMAF).

The Texas State AMA will be awarded a $500 community service grant in support of the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Texas’ Club Blue program. The money will be used to increase awareness and involvement of the Boys and Girls Club and Club Blue program both on campus and in the community.

Using its member’s skills in “marketing for a good cause,”  the Texas State AMA will sponsor a raffle in support of the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Texas and Club Blue. A team of students will also host a college day event, “True Life.” The event will be held in the spring of 2010 to bring Boys and Girls Club students to the university to introduce them to university life.

The AMAF gives members of the marketing profession a way to make a difference through their marketing skills by helping nonprofits market more effectively, promoting  and recognizing excellence in marketing and embracing diversity in the marketing profession.
