STAFF REPORT

San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz recently presented a proclamation to Gil Heldenfels as Heldenfels Enterprises celebrates its 100th anniversary. The San Marcos-based company specializes in pre-cast/pre-stressed concrete structures.

Heldenfels Brothers was founded in 1909 as a lumber and building materials business. The company expanded through the years and included ship building at one time, as well as road construction and  industrial plant construction. Heldenfels pioneered a great deal of concrete engineering during the last century.

One of the company’s most recent projects was 3,000 various pieces of pre-stressed concrete for the new Cowboys Stadium, a project that weighed in at more than 30,000 tons.

Heldenfels maintains manufacturing plants in San Marcos and Corpus Christi. The Heldenfels family continue to run the business.
