Chargers win local soccer title

The San Marcos Chargers won the Fall 2009 Girls Western Division II Championship of the South Texas Youth Soccer Association last week.

The Chargers are an under-12 (U12) girls select soccer team playing within the San Marcos Area Youth Soccer Organization (SMAYSO).

The Chargers won four games at Williamson County Regional Park (WCRP), earning a championship match against an aptly-named Austin Lonestars 98G Gold A squad. The Chargers won the title, 1-0, on an early goal by Savannah Jones and numerous saves by goaltender Rebekah Bryan.
