Tanger gives holiday donation to CTMC

STAFF REPORT

At a special holiday ceremony, Tanger Outlet Center awarded Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) a check in the amount of $10, 988. The donation was a result of Tanger’s annual breast cancer awareness campaign.

Through Oct. 20, Tanger raised funds through the sale of a Tanger “Pink Card.” For a $1 donation, Tanger customers received special pink discount cards that gave them 25 percent bonus savings at participating stores. This is the fourth year of Tanger’s coast to coast Pink Card program.

Michelle Carswell, General Manager of the Tanger Outlet Center in San Marcos, said, “The support that we received from our retailers and our shoppers this fall was incredible. By working together, we can continue to help save lives and make a real difference in our community.”

Nationally, Tanger Outlet Centers have raised and donated $7.5 million for the cause since the program’s inception in 1994. Funds raised by Tanger are donated to more than 20 different breast cancer organization funds administered through the Stanley K. Tanger Breast Cancer Fund.

Tanger’s campaign also helps to fund many programs and facilities designed to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients. The program is designed, also, to create awareness among Tanger customers of the importance of early detection.
