Rotary Club’s gala tonight

The Rotary Club of San Marcos is hosting its “Boots and Suits” gala and scholarship fundraiser starting at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the San Marcos Embassy Suites Hotel, Conference Center and Spa.

The event’s musical guest is Lone Star Swing, a western swing band featuring former members of the George Strait and Bob Wills bands. Dress is formal or semi-formal western or business attire.

Prizes include four courtside tickets to the San Antonio Spurs game versus the Heat on Dec. 31 and a one-night stay at Embassy Suites, donated by Wells Fargo Bank; four tickets to the Alamo Bowl on Jan. 2, donated by Steve Searle; a George Strait autographed cowboy hat; a Kevin Fowler autographed guitar; and a Cowboy boot print by Jill Pankey.
