Texas State H1N1 vaccines scheduled

H1N1 flu shots will be available for Texas State students, faculty and staff on Friday.

Those receiving shots  must bringTexas State ID.  The cost is $10.00.  Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted.

The location for vaccination is the second floor lair at the LBJ Student Center

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., vaccinations will be given to students, faculty and staff with chronic medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart/lung disease or compromised immune system), healthcare personnel (including students providing direct patient care as part of an educational program) and caregivers of infants less than six months old.

The 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  is open to all students who want to receive vaccinations (while supplies last).

The H1N1 vaccine is the most effective method for preventing infection and complications from the H1N1 flu.  Vaccination data supports that it is a safe vaccine.  Public health authorities are concerned that another wave of H1N1 flu could occur after the holiday break.

For any questions about the vaccine or the outreach program, call the Student Health Center at (512) 245-2167.
