The Texas State women’s basketball team lost both of its games during the Thanksgiving weekend at the Coors Rocky Mountain Invitational in Fort Collins, CO, and fell to 2-3 for the season.
The Bobcats lost, 66-54, to Colorado State on Nov. 27, then lost, 90-58, to Houston on Nov. 28.
Colorado State made 11 of 28 three-point shots to beat the Bobcats, who struggled with their shooting. Texas State made only 17 of 65 field goal attempts (26 percent) with only three players scoring more than one basket.
Victoria Davis scored 10 points with five rebounds for Texas State, while Aimee Hilburn scored nine points with eight rebounds.
The 11 three-pointers for Colorado State tied the record for three-pointers against the Bobcats.
Texas State struggled again against Houston, missing its first ten shots and finishing the night with 28 percent shooting (19 of 69).
Verinus Kalu came off the bench to lead the Bobcats with 10 points. Houston’s Roxana Button led all scorers with 21 points.
The Bobcats will play at Texas Tech Wednesday night (8 p.m.).
