With its 70-47 win at home against Anderson Tuesday night, the San Marcos High School girls basketball team is 4-3.
The Rattlers built the majority of their lead in the second half, when they outscored Anderson, 34-19, in the Snake Pit. Madelyn Swinney led the Rattlers with 18 points, followed by Ashley Crayton with 15.
A similar second-half surge pushed the Rattlers through to a 60-48 win against Crockett Monday night, also in the Snake Pit.
The Rattlers rallied from a 32-25 halftime deficit by outscoring the Cougars, 35-16, in the second half. Ali Gonzales led the Rattlers with 17 points, followed by Crayton with 12.
San Marcos plays its next game next Tuesday night, Dec. 1, at Bastrop. Later next week, they will play in the Bowie Tournament in Austin.
The Rattlers will open their District 17-4A season on Dec. 18 at Del Valle.
