The Texas State men’s and women’s cross country teams finished the 2009 season at the NCAA South Central Region Championships in Waco on Saturday, with the men finishing 15th and the women placing 16th.
Sophomore Michael Morris led the men’s team with a time of 33:33 on the five kilometer course. Jesus Ordaz was next to cross the line with a time of 33:50. Hugo Corral recorded a time of 34:23. Andres Herrera clocked a time of 34:31 and Chase Teinert recorded a time of 37:01 to round out the pack.
Sophomore Steffanie Armstrong anchored the Texas State women women with a time of 22:51 for 44th place on the five kilometer course. Maria Lopez was the second Bobcat to finish as she recorded a time of 23:28. Amanda McKinney wrapped up the course in 24:04, followed by April Murphy (24:10) and Dana Dolejsi (24:52).
