Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Hays County Pct. 3 Commissioner Will Conley to the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission, which helps fund, educate and set standards for local juvenile boards and departments statewide.
“By stepping up juvenile intervention and rehabilitation efforts throughout the state, we can offer troubled youth a real opportunity to choose a better life and a better future,” Conley said. “The work of this commission helps to make our schools and communities safer, and most importantly, it offers vulnerable members of our society a fresh start.”
The commission supports local governments and other agencies that work with troubled youth by offering intervention and rehabilitative programs, services for families, and community programs.
“The State of Texas is stronger thanks to the input and wisdom of folks like you,” Perry said in making the appointment.
