STAFF REPORT

For community service working with students and teachers, Crockett Elementary School recently presented the Timberland team with purple Call to Excellence T-shirts.

For six years, Timberland has regularly volunteered with the Crockett Elementary School in San Marcos CISD.

According to Crockett Parent Liaison Gracie Campos, Timberland’s Outlet Store has volunteered for such projects as the Math and Reading nights, the Science Fair, and the Spring Carnival.

Timberland a retailer, committed to making products with recyclable materials, has a presence in the “green” business community. Timberland annually provides Crockett Elementary with a special project to commemorate Earth Day.

“They even provided us with extra help and boxes during both of our campus moves, from the old site to the temporary site and from the temporary site to our new facility,” Campos said. “They continue to be a vital part of the Crockett Elementary family.”

A Call to Excellence is a grass-roots, parent-led group whose purpose is to improve and support San Marcos CISD. The group donats the “Exemplary in All Ways” T-shirts to the public schools to honor exemplary service providers. Other honorees include Frank Kane, Cesar Perez, Jane Simpson, Steven De Leon, Jolinda Abrego, Patricia Alvarado, Linda Gonzales, Fred Barnard, and Barbara Majors.
