Turkeys tackling hunger at Hays CISD

STAFF REPORT

Each year, students and employees at Hays CISD support the Hays County Food Bank by gathering canned goods and donations with their program “Turkeys Tackling Hunger.” Campuses are currently collecting the donations.

Bins for canned food donations will be at the Lehman vs. Hays varsity football game Friday night. The first 500 attendees who bring two cans of food or a monetary donation to the game will receive a free T-shirt.

For further information go to the Hays County Food Bank website, http://www.turkeystacklinghunger.org.

The Hays County Food Bank Turkey Box project allows the bank to feed a family in need with turkey and all of the trimmings for a donation of $20. Last year, the Hays County Food Bank provided 1,375 turkey dinners to families in Hays County.
