2010 prospects brighten for Thunderhill

STAFF REPORT

KYLE — Thunderhill Raceway promoter and owner Mary Ann Naumann said during the weekend that the prospects for a 2010 racing season at the track are improving.

Naumann said two weeks ago that the track’s loss of a subtenant put 2010 in jeopardy. However, Naumann said she has received a heartening response after putting that word out, and now the landowner at Thunderhill has given Naumann an extra 30 days to decide if she will renew her lease, which expired in November.

“If negotiations continue in this positive direction, I’m hoping that Thunderhill Raceway will be bigger and better than ever in 2010,” Naumann said. “Things are starting to come together, and we’ve already heard lots of ideas for bringing a new subtenant on board. Because of my incredible staff, dedicated racers and the great entertainment value provided for the racing fans and families, I’m more determined than ever to move forward with our plans for next year.”

Any inquiries about subleasing on the 38 acres of Thunderhill should be made directly to Naumann at (512) 844-3582 or maluvsracing@aol.com.
