Police investigate apparent suicide above Spring Lake

The Texas State University Police Department is investigating the apparent suicide of a student whose body was found Monday morning on university property.

The body of David B. Edwards, a 23-year-old freshman from Kerrville, Texas, was found early Monday morning by his brother, James Edwards, a Texas State graduate student. The two brothers lived together at an off-campus residence.

Police were notified of the discovery at 4:26 a.m. by James Edwards and were dispatched to an abandoned building on the hillside above Spring Lake. A suicide note was found at the scene.

An autopsy has been ordered.
