A 29-year-old Lockhart woman was killed Friday morning when she collided head-on with an 18-wheeler along Texas 21.
Heather Perry was pronounced dead on scene at 6:16 a.m. along Texas 21 just west of Farm-to-Market road 2001 near Niederwald. The accident forced a section of the highway to be closed for more than five hours, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson said.
While heading eastbound, Perry attempted to pass in an unsafe area when her car hit the westbound semi, the spokesperson said.
Melvin Park, of San Marcos, the driver of a Freightliner cargo truck, was uninjured after colliding with Perry’s Kia.Email | Print
