The Texas State men’s golf team finished tenth at the Lone Star Invitational at Biggs Ranch Tuesday afternoon.
The Bobcats shot a three-round 901 (298-301-302) in the meet hosted by Texas-San Antonio.
Jeff Gerlich led the Bobcats through the tournament with a three-over-par 219. The senior fired a one-under 143 through two rounds, then shot a 76 in the final round to finish tied for 14th.
Texas State’s Philip Krebsbach shot a 76 on today’s final 18, finishing tied for 28th with a 224. Other Bobcats included True Graves at 44th with a 230 (75-80-75), Carson Gibson in a tie for 51st with a 233 (78-75-80), and Michael Carnes at 55th with a 237 (80-82-75).
Texas A&M remained in the lead to take the team title with a 16-under 848. A&M’s John Hurley took the individual title with a ten-under par, 206.
Texas (858), SMU (868), Baylor (873) and UT Arlington (874) rounded out the top five team finishes at the 12-team field.
Texas State will return to the course this weekend at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, NM.
