Hendrix, Cheatham Street give food bank benefit

Grammy-award winning local musician Terri Hendrix has teamed up with the Cheatham Street Warehouse, 119 Cheatham Street, to put together a benefit for the Hays County Food Bank Thursday at 8 p.m.

In addition to Hendrix, the evening’s artists include Adam Carroll and Hendrix’s long-time musical partner and Grammy-winning artist, Lloyd Maines. The first part of the evening is a an “In the Round Acoustic Song Swap” with the three musicians. The song swap is an established Cheatham Street tradition.

At 10:30 p.m., the Lucky Tomblin band will play. The award-winning band is comprised of even more award winners including Earl Poole Ball, Redd Volkaert, John X. Reed and Sarah Brown.

Tickets for the event are $10, or $7.50 with a can of food and/or donation to the food bank.

The food bank is in need of canned fruits and vegetables. The bank also is in the process of gathering funds its Thanksgiving Turkey Boxes Program. More information is available at www.haysfoodbank.org.
