SMHS Library to be re-dedicated

The San Marcos High School Library will be re-dedicated as the Augustin Lucio Jr. Library Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Following the dedication will be an Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.

Lucio served 19 years on the San Marcos CISD school board. He served in other organizations at the state, county, and city level, winning numerous awards for his participation and accomplishments.

Lucio is one of the founders of the local chapter of the American G.I.Forum, a national organization for Hispanic Veterans founded in Corpus Christi in 1948.

He is also a founder and charter member of St. Johns Federal Credit Union and the local branch of the catholic fraternal organization, the Knights of Columbus. He is still an active member in these organizations.
