Majors receives "exemplary" t-shirt

Majors exhibits her winning smile and exemplary shirt.

STAFF REPORT

Barbara Majors generally sports a welcoming smile on her face as she works in the front office at Hernandez Elementary school.

Her smile, lately, may have something  to do with the”Call to Excellence” exemplary service t-shirt she was awarded recently. She was nominated for the honor by the two principals under whom she has worked over the past two years.

Sandra Reyes, former Henandez principal and current Mendez Elementary  principal, said of Majors, “Barbara is very welcoming and always has a smile on her face. She is the first person to greet visitors and provides assistance immediately. Her dedication and enthusiasm mirrors the district’s vision for excellence.”

New Hernandez principal Rosemary Garza adds, “We can always count on Barbara to provide a helping hand when one is needed. She is kind, friendly, and goes the extra mile to make sure that every child, teacher, and parent is treated in an exemplary way.”

A Call to Excellence is a parent-led group with the purpose of improving and supporting San Marcos CISD. The group donated the “Exemplary in All Ways” t- shirts to the public schools to honor exemplary service providers. Other honorees include Frank Kane, Cesar Perez, Jane Simpson, Steven De Leon, Jolinda Abrego, Patricia Alvarado, and Linda Gonzales.
