Hays County deputies have charged three young adult males and three juvenile males with criminal mischief and auto burglary after investigating a string of car burglaries in the Woodcreek area.

The adults  are identified as Daniel Mitchell, 18, of Wimberley, Dylan Robinson, 18, of New Braunfels and Jessie Chisolm, 18. Mitchell was arrested on Sept. 12, and released on $5,000 bond. Robinson was arrested on Sept. 11 and released on $6,000 bond. Chisolm, who turned 18 on Sept. 16, has not been arrested.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said it will not identify the two juveniles.

All five were charged with criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor, and burglary of auto, a Class A misdemeanor.

The HCSO began its investigation after setting up a bait vehicle in the Woodcreek subdivision, monitoring the vehicle and identifying suspects. The investigation led investigators to identify more than 100 incidents of criminal mischief and burglary of auto. Many of the cases had not been reported to law enforcement.

Deputies recovered property and returned it to owners, many of whom did not wish to pursue charges. The HCSO said the investigation will clear up 28 cases that were reported to law enforcement.
