The Southland Conference has named Texas State soccer player Britney Curry the co-offensive Player of the Week after matching the school’s career record in goals.
Curry made the game-winning assist and scored on a penalty kick in a 2-0 win against Houston Baptist on Sept. 22. On Sept. 25, Curry scored her 31st career goal in a 5-0 win against Prarie View A&M. Both games were at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
Curry shares the honor with Southeastern Louisiana’s Natalie Santana, who scored four goals and six assists in last week’s games.
Texas State goalkeeper Mandi Mawyer received honorable mention votes after posting four saves in the two Bobcats wins.
Sam Houston State goalkeeper Jenny Pence was named Goalkeeper of the Week, and teammate Hillary Ackerman was named Defensive player of the Week.
Texas State begins Southland Conference action on the road this weekend, going to Central Arkansas Friday and Northwestern State Sunday.
