Win at St. Gerard raises SMA to 4-0

The San Marcos Baptist Academy (SMA) football team continued its resounding ways of winning last Friday night with a 36-0 win at St. Gerard in San Antonio.

The Bears almost doubled the yardage on St. Gerard, ending the game with 389 total yards against only 205 for the home team.

SMA set the tone early, forcing St. Gerard to punt after a three and out off the opening kickoff, then blocking the punt. Michael Young ran for a 10-yard touchdown, making it 6-0 just 1:35 into the game.

SMA quarterback Anthony Richardson ran for touchdowns of 11 and 70 yards, and added a 10-yard touchdown pass to Collin Cook to make it 30-0 at halftime.

The Bears outgained St. Gerard, 258-55, in the first half.

SMA now is 4-0 with Shiner St. Paul coming to San Marcos Friday night. The Bears have won their last three games by a combined score of 142-8.
