CFPO-PAL to dedicate new fields at The Village

New playing fields that will serve thousands of children through the Christian Federation of Police Officers-Police Athletics Youth League (CFPO-PAL) will be dedicated Saturday at 11 a.m. on the field at Reimer Avenue at The Village campus. The public is invited to attend.

The Hays County Commisioners court voted in favor of the $1.6 million allocation just as the CFPO-PAL program lost the lease on its previous location.The fields will be dedicated to Gil Peyton, a founding board member who passed away before his dream of a permanent place to play came to fruition.

The new location has three lighted football fields with scoreboards. Also included is a pee wee field, bleaches and team benches. A parking lot will be located on the Village campus, east of Hunter Road on Reimer Avenue.Construction for concessions, a track, office space and a field house will begin soon.

The Village of San Marcos is a 29-acre social services center, which will be home to non-profit organizations that serve Hays County.
