STAFF REPORT
Flu virus vaccinations are now being scheduled by the Hays County Personal Health Department. The inoculations currently offered for the Hays County Personal Health Clinics (PHCs) are not for the H1N1 virus. They are the vaccinations for seasonal flu.
The PHC in Kyle at 150 Lockhart Road and the San Marcos PHC at 401-A Broadway are offering the seasonal flu shots on Mondays from 1-7 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 1-5 p.m.
The San Marcos PHD will also offer the flu vaccinations on two Saturdays, Sept. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon an Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The cost for the flu vaccine inoculations is $20. The pneumonia vaccine is $40. If your primary insurer is Medicare Part B, there will be no charge for the flu or pneumonia vaccine if you bring your Medicare card with you. If you are going to an Outreach Vaccination Clinic, you will need to bring your original Medicare card and a photocopy of it with you because there are no copiers at these temporary facilities.
Please check to see if pre-registration is required at the Outreach Clinic you plan to use.
