San Marcos Baptist Academy recently donated 10 used computers to Computers For Learning (CFL), a nonprofit organization based in Austin. After being refurbished by CFL, the computers will benefit students in the San Marcos community who do not have computers in their homes. The effort helps local families bridge the “digital divide.”
Established in 2000, CFL operates in conjunction with a number of statewide partners, including local partners like the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, San Marcos CISD, Gary Job Corps, Veteran Tutors, the San Marcos Education Foundation and Grande Communications. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission also provides sponsorship with employees, warehouse space and administrative support.
