Texas State will announce the results of a cancer research project between its Department of Agriculture and Orizon Research at a news conference Wednedesday starting at 2 p.m.
The news conference will be held on the second floor of the Agricultural Building on the Texas State Campus.
The new line of research being announced represents a possible new approach in the treatment of cancer. Reed Richardson, chair of the Department of Agriculture and Dhiraj Vattem, professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences will discuss the approach, as will representatives from Orizon Research.
Orizon Research Institute’s website said it will announce discoveries with a Texas university Wednesday. The discoveries from the study are related to a new compound with extremely beneficial effects in fighting both the HIV-virus and cancer cells. The new compound is non-toxic, has no reported side effects, and is not a drug.
It will be made available to the public immediately following the press release on the Orizon Research Institute web site at www.orizonresearch.com.
