KYLE — The Hays CISD Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohlers Crossing in Kyle, is the setting for two “Ideas Summits” planned for Sept 17.
The summits are opportunities for members of the Hays CISD community to share their ideas and aspirations for the school district as it begins an intensive five-year planning process.
“This is an opportunity for the community to work with the school district in a very public way to identify our values,” said Jeremy Lyon, who recently started as the Hays CISD superintendent. “We’ll determine what our highest, loftiest aspirations are as a district ,and then we’ll identify strategies that are going to get us there.”
One summit will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the other will begin at 6:30 p.m. Both will be held at the Performing Arts Center. Light refreshments will be served. Participants are asked to choose and attend only one summit. Childcare will be provided at the 6:30 p.m. summit.
“Aspiration becomes the context in which everything happens,” said Lindsey Gunn, Senior Associate of Cambridge Strategic Services, which Hays CISD recently hired for help with planning. Cambridge’s presence on Twitter is at twitter.com/cambridgestrats, for those who would like to learn more about the firm.
