Pianist Faith Debow to play at Library

STAFF REPORT

The San Marcos Public Library, 625 East Hopkins Street, will present noted pianist Faith Debow on Sept. 2 at 8 p.m.

The concert is titled “Composers Stealing From Each Other.” The selections will include Mozart, improvisations on Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons,” Chopin, Rachmaninoff, ragtime and even arrangements of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Debow has been a music faculty member at both Texas State and Trinity University. She also was the pianist for the Austin-based, Grammy-nominated, professional Choir Conspirare. In that capacity, she was recently seen on the PBS special “A Company of Voices: Conspirare in Conert.”

She has performed in Denmark, England, Panama, Germany, Italy and Austria and more than a dozen states in the U.S.

Her varied musical interests include singing and songwriting, new compositions, sacred music and the popular songs of the early 1900’s.

The event is free, open to all ages, and smoke-free.
