The Women, Infants and Chilren (WIC) office in New Braunfels will move from 613 Interstate-35 Business Loop South to its new location at 625 North Walnut Avenue on Aug. 27. The office will be closed until Sept.2.
WIC services provide food, health care referrals and nutritional information to low income pregnant and post partum women and their children (up to age five) who are found to be a nutritional risk.
The City of San Marcos manages WIC programs in Hays, Caldwell, Comal and Guadalupe Counties. The program benefits 9,600 women and their children each month.
WIC is an equal opportunity provider, receiving funds from both the U.S. Department of Agriculture federal WIC program and the Texas Department of State Health Services.
