H-E-B and Dripping Springs announced Wednesday that the Central Texas grocery giant is soon to open a store in Hays County’s most northern city.
The groundbreaking will take place this fall, with an opening in 2010 for a 68,000-square-foot H-E-B at U.S. 290 and Rob Shelton Boulevard.
“We’re thrilled that H-E-B will become a vital part of Dripping Springs and can’t wait to celebrate the grand opening next year,” said Dripping Springs Mayor Todd Purcell.
The grocery store will be part of a Barshop & Oles development that already includes a Home Depot, Chase Bank and Broadway Bank. Two remaining sites are available.
The facility also will include a pharmacy with a two-lane drive thru, a gas station including diesel, a full line of cosmetics and a floral department.
The new store will be staffed with approximately 300 employees. The store promises that “seafood experts, master bakers, artisan cake decorators and certified, trained meat experts will be on-hand(sic) to teach customers.”
Said Jeff Thomas, senior vice president and general manager of H-E-B’s Central Texas Region, “H-E-B’s new Dripping Springs store incorporates years of research and planning, but, most importantly, community input and insight. Our future customers helped us create an ideal destination grocery store. After years of hard work, we are thrilled to see our vision on paper become a reality for the community.”Email | Print
