STAFF REPORT

San Marcos CISD has named Doug Wozniak the new principal of Miller Middle School.

Since 2007, Wozniak has served as the principal of Stockdale Junior High in Stockdale. Wozniak said he was drawn to San Marcos because of the school district’s good reputation and because he wanted to be part of a larger educational community.

An Ohio native, Wozniak earned his BS in elementary education from Bowling Green State in Bowling Green, OH. He attended Texas A&M and completed his Masters in education administration and supervision at the University of Houston-Victoria in 2006.

Earlier, Wozniak was assistant principal and principal at Roger E. Sides Elementary in Karnes City. He taught science, social studies and physical education in Sweet Home, also serving as that school district’s gifted/talented coordinator. In Pearsall, Wozniak taught math, pre-algebra and was a University Interscholastic League (UIL) math coach at Pearsall Junior High.

“My one word goal for Miller is ‘exemplary,'” Wozniak said. “I hope to work with the staff to establish a climate of excellence and high expectations. Middle school students benefit from a learning environment that is fun and interesting, so we’ll have some spirited competitions and motivations.”
