Hays CISD Superintendent Jeremy Lyon.
Hays CISD Superintendent Jeremy Lyon will cover the importance of partnerships and business and community support as the keynote speaker for the July meeting of the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce (KACC).
“The importance of healthy partnerships between school districts and local businesses cannot be understated,” Lyon said. “These mutually beneficial relationships influence everything from community pride to educational opportunity and work force development. As our school district continues to grow by an average of 750 students per year, it is imperative for our business community to join with us and help us create excellent educational programs and opportunities.”
Lyon joined Hays CISD in February 2009. He was the superintendent of Hillsboro School District in Hillsboro, OR, since 2004. Hillsboro School District, located near the western coast of Oregon about 20 minutes west of Portland, has 34 campuses and about 20,000 students. It is the fourth largest school district in Oregon.
Lyon also has served in the Eanes, Leander, La Joya and Gilmer school districts in Texas.
David Pierce, the new principal of Hays High School, will also be in attendance.
The luncheon is sponsored by Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union. Backpack donations will be accepted to go to students in the Hays CISD. The luncheon will take place at Kyle Elementary School from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on July 28.
This event is open to the public, costing $10.00 with an RSVP for members and $15.00 for future members with an RSVP. RSVP to Ray@kylechamber.org or call (512) 268-4220 by July 27. For more information on the Kyle chamber, visit www.KyleChamber.orgEmail | Print
