Season ticket pick-up for Bobcat sports set for Aug. 1

The Texas State Department of Athletics will conduct its  annual season ticket pick-up event for Bobcat Club members and fans that have purchased football, volleyball and soccer season tickets for the 2009 season on Saturday, Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sac-N-Pac room, located in the end zone complex at Bobcat Stadium.

The athletic department is encouraging potential season ticket holders and those wishing to purchase premier seating packages to attend, as well.

Athletic Director Larry Teis will open the event with a synopsis speech about Texas State’s multi-million dollar renovations to Bobcat Stadium. The expansion project includes 15 luxury suites and 450 premium club seats.

The upgrades are part of a collaborative effort, known as “The Drive,” to move Texas State to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) level.”

Additional information on club level seating and season tickets will be available, and representatives from the Texas State Ticket Office will be on hand to take any questions. Tickets will be available for purchase, as well.

Complimentary food and beverages will be provided, along with a chance to meet members of the football, volleyball and soccer staff. Student-athletes from the respective sports, along with the members of the Texas State Spirit teams, will be on hand.

Texas State won its fifth Southland Conference (SLC) Commissioner’s Cup after winning five league championships during the 2008-09 season. The Bobcats became the first SLC school to win league championships in football, volleyball and soccer last fall. During the spring season, Texas State’s baseball and softball team also won SLC Championships, making Texas State the first university since 1995 and only the third SLC institution overall to win both of those titles in the same season.
