STAFF REPORT

San Marcos’ XI Media has won two Telly Awards, which honors the best local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, as well as video, film and works created for the web.

The awards come closely after XI won multiple DV awards, continuing its streak.

XI won a Silver Telly, the top honor, for its work in providing a live stream for Levi’s Fader Fort during Austin’s South by Southwest Music Festival. XI also brought home a Bronze Telly, the second highest award, for its work with Baeble Music in shooting and editing a live performance by the band Dr. Dog.

“This job was an incredible culmination of planning, skill and superb clients,” said XI owner Dusty Kraatz. “We literally worked on the planning and logistics phase of this project for two months.  Our nine person crew did such an amazing job and XI Media would not be receiving the recognition that it is without our entire team.”

Said co-owner Christa Kraatz, “I can’t stress enough how fantastic it is to be running an Internationally successful business right here in San Marcos, TX.  It is our hope that recognition such as this will further prove the point that San Marcos has an incredible pool of media related talent.”

The Telly Awards puts XI in the same company as NBC, the Discovery Channel and ESPN. For more information about XI Media, visit its website.

  1. This is a great story. We need more businesses like this in San Marcos. Maybe pieces like this will put some ideas in the heads of some of our recent and future Texas State grads.
