Police say on July 9, around 12:45 a.m., a woman was awakened by a stranger sexually assaulting her in her bed. The suspect was armed with a handgun and fled on foot after the assault. Police believe the suspect entered the residence through an unsecured door.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens to early 20’s, 6 feet, one-inch tall, with a slender or trim build. He has close cropped hair with a small head and small facial features.

“We urge anyone with information about this suspect to call us,” said SMPD Commander Terry Nichols.

The sketch was completed with the help of the Austin Police Department. Anyone with any information or who recognizes the suspect should call the SMPD Criminal Investigation Division at (512) 753-2300, or (512) 753-2108.
