San Marcos to hold passport fair in Kyle

STAFF REPORT

The San Marcos City Clerk’s office will hold a passport fair in Kyle on July 18. It will take place at the H-E-B located at South FM 1626 and Interstate-35 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Regulations that went into effect on June 1 require most U.S citizens entering the United States at sea or land points of entry to have a passport, passport card or other travel document approved by the Department of Homeland Security.

“Because of new regulations taking place, the Clerk’s Office has seen a huge increase of applicants from the Buda and Kyle area,” said City Clerk Sherry Mashburn.

Applicants wanting passports should bring their certified birth certificates, naturalization papers, previous passports, two passport photos and valid photo identification. For more information on passport requirements, visit the U.S. State Department’s website.

For more information on the passport fair, contact the San Marcos City Clerk’s Office at (512) 393-8090.
