PEC to hold open house in Kyle

Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) will hold an open house in Kyle on July 13 from 5-8 p.m. at the Word of Life Church to explain new rates and show examples of PEC’s redesigned bill.

PEC directors approved a new rate structure in June and revised its line extension policy. The new policy will help distinguish PEC’s costs from power supply costs, bringing it more in line with industry standards. The change is expected to reduce overall charges by roughly $2.5 million.

The changes will go into effect on or after Aug.1. PEC said the average customer should see a slight decrease in billing.
