Temperatures are forecast to reach 100 degrees in San Marcos, Kyle and Buda with the heat index hovering between 105 and 110 degrees. Those temperatures are forecast to repeat on Sunday before cooling slightly to the high-90s early next week.
The weather service urges people to drink plenty of water, stay out of the sun and inside when possible and check up on relative and natives, especially the elderly.
