Still looking for that first district win in their fourth year of varsity football, the Lehman high school football team is scheduled for seven games at Bob Shelton Stadium in 2009.
The Lobos will play four of their five non-district games at home. They will end the regular season at Bob Shelton Stadium on Nov. 6 as the road team against Hays.
The only true road games this year for Lehman are at San Antonio Edison on Sept. 11, at Manor on Oct. 9 and at Del Valle on Oct. 23.
The Lobos will begin the regular season at home against Riesel on Aug. 27. The following Friday, Sept. 4, they will play Austin Reagan at home.
The Sept. 11 game at Edison will be played at the Burbank High School sports complex. A week later, on Sept. 18, the Lobos will play their homecoming game against Lanier. The non-district schedule ends on Sept. 25 at home against Gonzales.
The Lobos will take an open date on Oct. 2 as they prepare for a five-game District 17-4A schedule that could land them in the playoffs for the first time.
The district slate will begin with the Oct. 9 game at Manor. A week later, on Oct. 16, the Lobos will play at home against Elgin. After the Oct. 23 game at Del Valle, the Lobos will close out with two games at Bob Shelton Stadium — an Oct. 30 home game against Lockhart and the Nov. 6 season finale as the road team against Hays.
In their first three years of varsity football, the Lobos won six games, half of them during last year’s 3-7 season. They are 0-19 lifetime in district games.Email | Print
