Sheriff charges two with forgery

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office has charged two people in recent days with forgery stemming from an investigation that started with a fake $100 note passed at a fireworks stand.

On Friday, deputies along with the U.S. Secret Service and Hays County SWAT executed a search warrant at the Plum Creek RV Campground at 24800 Interstate 35 South in Kyle, arresting Tanya Disirea Bostick, 25, originally on a state jail felony charge later upgraded to third-degree felony forgery, said Lt. Leroy Opiela, the sheriff’s office spokesperson. Stephen Barham, 27, was arrested for marijuana possession during the raid at the RV park. He was subsequently charged with third-degree felony forgery.

Both suspects’ bond is set at $10,000 on the forgery charge and both remain jailed. The investigation is ongoing and officials have declined to discuss the case further for now.
