Kyle FD plans controlled burn on Saturday

SUBMITTED REPORT

The Kyle Fire Department has scheduled a training exercise this weekend to burn the field between Wallace Middle School and Hometown Kyle subdivision.

Weather permitting, the burn will take place the morning of Saturday, June 20 with Sunday morning as a back up day.

Residents living in the Hometown Kyle development are asked to be aware that the police and fire departments will be in the area and to only call 911 if they feel the fire is getting too close to your home. The city also suggests that residents stay indoors as much as possible to avoid respiratory irritation from the smoke and to make sure pets and children are accounted for during the exercise.

This training exercise will also act as a “pre-burn” for the fireworks show scheduled for the July 4th Fireworks.
