Hays County Precinct 3 Commissioner Will Conley (R-San Marcos) has joined the board of directors of the Center for Public Policy and Political Studies (CPPPS) at Austin Community College.
CPPPS is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that provides students a chance to learn about their government, its policies and themselves as citizens. It is the only organization of its type to exist at a community college. Its projects include the Jeffery M. Friedman Political Video History Project, a student-run CPPPS voter registration campaign, multiple publications that track single district and local voting trends, an award-winning celebration of Constitution Day and various workshops and lectures.
“It’s a real honor to sit on this board,” Conley said. “It’s imperative that the generations of tomorrow have a complete understanding of government at all levels. The great experience of America only works well when you have an informed and educated public. Hopefully, our service on this board will assist in providing these opportunities for future generations while making our country stronger in the process.”
Other members of CPPPS board include former Texas Governor Mark White and Annie’s List Political Director Robert Jones. For more information on CPPPS, visit its website.Email | Print
