A “one-stop” social service center for San Marcos will come step closer to reality on June 18, as local partners will meet to sign an agreement to establish the Village Main building.
The mission of the Village is to allow onsite non-profit organizations and the community to maximize resources while improving the lives of those in need. It will be located at the Village of San Marcos, on Reimer Avenue off Hunter Road.
“The purpose for the Village of San Marcos is to bring non-profits together on one piece of property to benefit clients,” said Penny Dunn, Village President and San Marcos Police Department (SMPD) Commander. “Clients can avoid the problems of finding transportation and childcare through the current maze of services and concentrate on the resources they need to improve their lives.”
Signing agencies include Early Childhood Intervention-Homespun, Community Action, Inc., the San Marcos-Hays County Family Justice Center and the City of San Marcos Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children.
The signing will take place in the multi-purpose room of the San Marcos Activity Center, located at 501 East Hopkins Street, at 11 a.m.Email | Print
